VIHFA Invites Contractors to Participate in Davis-Bacon Webinar

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA) invites general contractors to participate in its Davis Bacon and Related Acts webinar on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 10 a.m. – noon. The webinar is hosted in partnership with the U.S. Department of Labor, Puerto Rico field office.

The Davis-Bacon and Related Acts apply to contractors and subcontractors performing on federally funded or assisted contracts more than $2,000 for the construction, alteration, or repair (including painting and decorating) of public buildings or public works.

Contractors currently working on projects for the VIHFA Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) and general contractors interested in doing business with the Authority are welcome to attend. The webinar will cover prevailing wages determination, construction contract provisions, and payroll certifications, etc. Full compliance of the Davis-Bacon and Related Acts provisions are a required for U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) grants.
