Estate Mount Pleasant: Notice of Finding of No Significant Impact & Notice of Intent to Request Release of Funds

These notices shall satisfy two separate but related procedural requirements for activities to be undertaken by the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority.


On or about July 22, 2022, the Virgin Islands Housing Finance Authority (VIHFA) will submit a request to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the release of Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds under Title 1 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, (PL93-383), as amended, to undertake a project known as Estate Mount Pleasant Subdivision and Homes Construction Project for the purpose of constructing seven homes at approximately 1,100 square feet on a combined area of approximately 1.77 acres in the Mount Pleasant Subdivision on St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. Both CDBG-DR and local funds will be utilized to fund this project and the estimated project cost is $1,685,597.00.


VIHFA has determined that the project will have no significant impact on the human environment. Therefore, an Environmental Impact Statement under the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) is not required.
